Hi everyone.

Thank you for you support all these years.

I will be changing this blog address to
http://huairenrides.wordpress.com/
as this new site address reflects in a more general way than Vara125.

Still I heart the Vara125 to the max.
It is a wonderful machine.

Hope you all will continue to support me.

So cya soon!

It’s the 1st HCR and we are going to Genting!
I am the organiser for HCR and I’m glad I have many supporters and helpers.

Well… nothing much to say but we do enjoy ourselves on the way and at Genting.
Everyone made it there and back!

On the NSH.

At Goh Tong Jaya, mid hill of Genting, having lunch.

Parking our bikes at the carpark of First World Hotel.

Done with the parking.

Jonathan hugging me.

View from the carpark.

View from our rooms.

We had fun sitting on Encik Pat while he’s lying on the Foot Reflexlogy Stones!

Fun over!

I over stretched Xiaohei.
Ran long distance without stop, clear meter, ran with empty coolant.
Then fan not working, coolant went empty after refill.
But Xiaohei still brought me back home.

It’s time to retire Xiaohei from long trip.
He shall only bring me around Singapore.

Last year I couldn’t make it for this trip as I broke my leg while on the way to recce the durian plantation.

This year, I’m here at the durian plantation.
Eating Eat-All-You-Can durian at the plantation.

The plantation is situated somewhere inside Pagoh.
I go the coordinates but I guess it’s better not to put it out.

However something happened to my bike was we are about to move off from the plantation.
My bike has no power and it could not start.
MC, Veron, Nathan, Steve stayed back to help me troubleshoot.
Finally found that the problem is with the battery.
However not sure if the charging system (magnetic coil) is working or not.
The durian plantation boss helped use find a motor bike repair shop where we can charge or buy a battery.
Steve took out his bike battery and fixed onto mine.
I rode the bike to the shop and MC rode the battery back to steve.

The mechanic fixed a battery on to my bike.
The bike is able to start.
However fearing that the charing system is faulty, I bought another wet cell battery.
Disabled my front headlight to save battery usage too.

On the highway, there was a roadblock.
From the looks of this Malaysian Policeman, it seems like wanting to stop me.
However… I just drove off quickly.

Nathan and I went back to Singapore first while MC, Veron & Steve join the rest at 777.

Back in Singapore, I realised the coolant is leaking.

Quite an eventful day.
Next is to repair the bike.
And also, to find a bike that can bring me to Genting.

Gosh…

Melaka Trip No.2 2010

June 12, 2010

Went to Melaka again.
This time staying at Encik’s Bor’s Melaka house.

Attendees are:
Encik Pat & Bor

Set off at 9pm++ as it was jam at the second link.

Reached Melaka and we head to eat lok lok first.?
Then went 7-11 to buy some drinks and beer.

Encik’s Bor’s house is typical Melaka resident house.
Simple and nice.
Just wish there ain’t so much mosquitoes!
Got bitten almost the whole night.

Next day went to eat wanton me then we add off to Encik’s Bor’s Grandma death anniversary thingy.
Took quite awhile to find the place.

Trip to Labis

May 29, 2010

Made a trip to Labis on Vesak Day morning.

The night before, I came back from work and slept.
Woke up at around 10pm, then made my way to Kranji, meet up with the guys to go in JB.
At this point of time, I’m still thinking whether I should go to Labis.
After supper, reached home at around 4am.
Then I decided to go, since I’m still wide awake and not feeling sleepy.

Reached GP at 6am.
Met with Encik Pat and Barn, talked awhile and I left on my own towards Labis.

First petrol stop at Machap.
After topping up petrol, I realised the temperature gauge is at the max high.
The fan was not on too.
Stopped for awhile and rode on.
While riding the temperature gauge goes down to mid point, which is the norm.

Reached Labis at around 8am.
Ah Ma made a cup of hot milo for me and have me bread and butter to eat.

The whole day was there waiting for my Uncles, Aunt and sister to arrive then start with the clearing of the house.

Nothing much to do there.
Wanted to bring my sister to the Labis waterfall but it was raining very heavily so turned back halfway.

Next day, returning home.
Actually wanted to move off at 7.30am.
Was too tired so slept till 8am.
Wash up and packed, 9am I left for Singapore.
Wrote alittle slower as the temperature seems to be on a constant up.

Reached GP at around close to 12pm.

* An update on the high temperature.
Found out that the coolant level was low, hence the termostat was unable to detect the temperature to activate the fan.
Topup coolant and everything is back to normal.

Melaka Trip 2010

April 5, 2010

It’s my first long distance trip since the accident.

This time I rode blackie to Melaka.
It’s almost 1 year since I went to Melaka.
Still love the place very much.

Rode there on 4/4/10 Sunday and came back one 5/4/10 Monday.
Spent my birthday there.

JB Topup Session

March 27, 2010

Finally, I got my passport and went into JB for the first time since the accident on 7th June 2009.
It was a good wait.

I organised a topup session and was glad the turn out was not bad.
Total 7 turned up.
1. Tom Koh
2. Bay
3. ZR
4. Paul
5. Xcert
6. BunnyHui
7. Huairen
Most where old kakis I knew 2 years ago and we had a good time chatting away.

Same old routine.
Went thru custom and head for supper then topup.
We really got lots of things to talk.
Met at Kranji, we chatted.
Crossed custom, meet at the shell station, we chatted.
Makan time, we chatted.
Went to Esso topup petrol, we chatted.
Crossed custom back to singapore, we chatted.
Then we went back home.

It was really a change from 2 years ago.
Most changed and upgraded their bike.
Some still riding the usually ones.
I suppose next year will be a bigger change.

Sold Sparkie back to her previous owner.
Having only rode sparkie for 7 weeks and 2000km, I sold her away.
She have been a good ride except for the burnt CDI.

Sparkie’s gone and here comes Xiaohei.
Xiaohei is a Honda Foresight 250.
Her lifespan only left with 3 years.
So I’m going to ride till the end.

So far Xiaohei has been very good except when she gave me heart attack when I couldn’t start it.
Maybe something wrong with the switch.
Other than that, the ride was very good.
Pickup fast and very comfortable to ride.

Sparkie’s CDI Burnt

February 27, 2010

While travelling along Serangoon Road, Sparkie’s CDI burnt…
Unable to ride…
Called for toll…

It’s using racing CDI so it’s will not last so long.
Gonna replaced it back with an original CDI.

The seller SMS me says he wants to buy back his Sparkie.
Should I sell back to him?

5 Weeks with Sparkie

February 26, 2010

Been riding for 5 weeks with Sparkie.
Sparkie is a great relax ride, but she vibrates too much compared to Vara.
But I still love Sparkie!

Now… should I bring her to Malaysia?
The question is… Am I ready?
The 1DTO guys are asking me go lok lok session, go makan, go Melaka, go Sg. Lembing.
How?

Afterall, I still have to get my passport done first.
